This very successful School of Irish Dancing is run by mother and daughter teachers, Mary McCarthy-Felton ADCRG and Meabh Linnane ADCRG.
Mary has danced for 60 years (but only admits to half of that). She hails from Dublin where she was taught by Rory O’Connor who is probably the most famous dancer of all time. With Rory she performed in films, television, stage shows with the top stars of the day and even on the Radio!
Later she married Steve Felton, a Shakespeare Morris man and came to live in the area where she continued to teach.
Her daughter, Meabh, first performed at 3 years old and went on to become a National, European and World Champion dancer. She attended the University of Limerick and successfully undertook a BA in Irish Music and Dance, followed by an MA in Irish Dance Performance. During this time she taught dance at the University and later lectured there.
Meabh returned to the UK permanently a few years ago and together they continue as Co-Principals to bring dancers to World Championship level in both solo and team dances.
Their dancers support local fetes and events and dance at venues such as The London Palladium, Her Majesty’s Theatre, The Royal Albert Hall, 02 London Arena as well as at Corporate Events all over the country.
Solo Dance Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays for all grades, starting with beginners at 5pm. Later, dancers are invited to join group/team class on Saturday mornings.
