The computer class has been running for more than 10 years now; originally it was established by Stratford – upon – Avon College (with support from Central Government) in response to demand for knowledge of computing from rural communities.  When central funding was withdrawn some years later, classes in villages like Salford Priors were no longer viable and the College ceased running them.  However, students at Salford wished to continue their studies and at their request the tutor agreed to run the class privately, which he has been doing for a good number of years now.

The class offers tuition in a number of Microsoft software packages as follows:-
- Word-processing
- Spreadsheets
- Publisher
- PowerPoint
- Access
- Internet and E-mails

In the early years student numbers were around 10/11 but have settled to 6-8. The students are mainly mature students, the oldest being over 90 years of age! It is a very friendly group who often share a good laugh together over a cup of tea. Many students work on their own projects e.g. editing photographs, typing minutes of meetings, creating circulars and posters and seek help and advice when and where necessary. They run here every Thursday morning during term time, from 10am to 12pm. For more information, please call Mick Green on 07772 405122.
